saddle shoes

saddle shoes were my favorite when i was little. I vividly remember looking down at the pleasingly simple contrast of white against navy. my matching white with navy trim socks and gawky legs of a bird...  I would get them new for the first day of school, and my heart would flutter...What's your first memory of saddle shoes???
